We are Anonymous

I'm assuming most people know about Anonymous, WWP, and the current Julian Assange BS thats going on, so this might turn out to be more of a discussion post, rather than informative. But, I'll outline the basics.

Anonymous is not an organization. There are no official members, guidelines, leaders, representatives or unifying principles. Rather, Anonymous is a word that identifies the millions of people, groups, and individuals on and off of the internet who, without disclosing their identities, express diverse opinions on many topics. To be Anonymous does not imply thinking or acting in concert with others who are Anonymous; rather, it describes a way of communicating and promoting social change.

In other words, Anonymous fights the fight for human rights. I took the quote from WhyWeProtest (WWP), which is a nice forum dedicated to anonymous connecting and organizing.

Now, onto Julian Assange. He is an austrian journalist, and founder of wikileaks, the site dedicated to leaking goverment secrets. He's currently in a prison in London, although legally, he's done nothing wrong (its a tough subject, actually, but most people think that what he's doing is legal). Sweden are trying to extradite him for 'rape', although the supposed rape consists of casual (and between consenting adults) sex without a condom. Most people, I among them, think the US is behind it, considering how hard they've been trying to get him in prison.

That brings me back to Anons. We're basically crashing sites that have anything to do with shutting wikileaks down, or anything to do with anti-Julian Assange. So help us.

I'm just the messenger, and I'm doing my bit to get the word out. Feel free to spread the information further.

Worst Fear

Some fears should be faced. Perhaps you are scared of being stuck in an elevator. You need to face that fear. But some things can't be faced, and perhaps the shouldn't be.

My all time worst fear is about death. Honestly, I have no problem with flicking out of existence. I have no real problem with burning in hell either - although perhaps the previous would be preferable. I'm not too hot on heaven, although no sex for eternity would be bearable. Reincarnation would be ideal, but I'm in a slightly synical mood right now. But what I am scared of is nothing, and being consious of nothing.

Most people have heard of sensory depravation tanks. You're placed in a dark box, full of water. No feeling, no light, no sound - just nothing. Its enough to drive someone crazy after a while. Thats what I'm scared of happening after death, except that you don't even have a body. Just a kind of emptiness that I would float around in forever.

Of course, a close second is waking up in the damn coffin, which is why I plan to request a cremation. Not that I think I actually could wake up - its just a really unpleasant thought. I'm really uncomfortable with closed spaces like that.

So, what do you think about fear in general? Are you scared of something happening after death? Do you think you can face that fear?

First off, I would like to take the oportunity to define two things:

the doctrine or belief that there is no god.
disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.

a strong belief that the nordic deity Thor doesn't exist.

Anyone see the problem?

I recently got into a discussion about arguments between athiests and religious people. The person I was talking to shared my athiestic beliefs, and we also shared the irritation about the arguments the religious side use when they are out of other arguments. The top one being 'I'm right, you're wrong, and you're going to hell'. But I think the all time worst thing you can do is to tell an Athiest that their athiesm requires belief.

I usually counter that with:

"Have you ever heard of Athorism?"
"Its the strong belief that the nordic deity Thor doen't exist" I then smile radiantly.

The opponent will generally ask what the hell this peculiar belief has to do with the discussion. Its really quite simple. Does thinking that Thor doesnt exist require belief? Most people, whatever religious beliefs (or lack of there upon) they have, would answer "No". So why, I ask, does athiesm require belief? In my eyes, it certainly doesn't.

So, Athiests? Do you believe that God doesn't exist, or don't you believe in God? How do you feel about people saying you belive in nothing?

Some really interesting videos. The links are here in case anyone wants to post elsewhere (which I recommend)

Comment to be added! =D

Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.

I'll add anyone who has anything much in common with me, just comment, and I'll add you.

My First Post!!!

Hi, my name is Avery. I'm pretty crazy, but its subtle, not in the whole OCD way. So, this is me:

Femenist: Femenism is that something people can always motivate me with. I pay attention when I hear about it, or when I hear something against women, and sometimes it pretty much consumes my life. I'm a fighter, and I'll always find something to fight for - its what I live off.

Lesbian: Once I get out of education, I will part time on political activism. I mean it. Next to femenism, fighting for my rights is the most important thing in my life and I do not shut up about it. I'm out to everyone - except my brother, because I dont live with him, and he hasn't bothered to ask yet. He's coming over next week, though. LGBT Pride!!!!! I also support the right for incestous relationships, as long as they don't produce children (high deformity rate), because although I'm not one for those feelings, I believe in Love. Not gender, or status, or anything else in the way. So I don't see why i should condemn incest either. Plus, it would make me a gigantic hypocrite.

Honest and true to myself: I hold a strong no-bitching policy. If I have something to say about you, you'll be the first to hear it. I won't talk behind my friend's back but it doesn't mean I wont talk shit about her/him. BUT, I'm incredibly loyal to my friends. If a friend tells me a secret, and we argue, I would never, ever talk. I'm not going to abandon a friend because I have a girlfriend either, and I won't let anything happen to a friend. Basically, my friends are a (much better) replacement for my homophobic family.

Athiest Nihilist: Yes, I am totally devoid of the ability to believe in anything. I always have to verify anything I'm expected to just 'have faith in', and if there is no proof, then it simply doesnt exist. I'm kind of like occams razor  - the simplest explanation is usually the correct one. So, by that reasoning, there is no God, because his existence would not make scientific sense.

Satanist: Weird combination, I am aware of that. I think I made it clear that I don't believe in either God or Satan. But if I did, I think I could relate to Lucifer. 'Evil', for me, seems morally better for me than God's word. God, for one, condemns homosexuality, sex out of marriage, incest, and a lot of other things that I think are basic human rights. Lucifer, on the other hand, is loyal, trustworthy, and honest.

My little 2 cents on human nature that for some reason, I decided to post.

The only motive for human action is selfishness. Love is selfish, so is hate, so is murder, and so is saving a life. I fully accept my nature as a selfish human being, and I am freed by the knowledge. No person can ever be free without knowing and accepting this about themselves.
